Executive function, or EF, is at the core of accomplishing your goals. Autism, ADHD, anxiety, and any mental stresses can impact your executive function. Executive function, or EF, controls our ability to plan, organize, collaborate, focus, and pivot as we go about our daily lives. Today's schools and workplaces aren't built for everyone. Some of our most brilliant, most creative, and persistent problem-solvers struggle because of their executive function.
Whether because of autism, ADHD, dyslexia, stress, anxiety or depression, people can struggle with the ability to plan, organize, and follow through on tasks. When compromised working memory, attention, flexibility, or self-regulation stands in the way of what you seem able to do and what you want to do, you may benefit from executive function support. Executive function impacts everything you do in life, and supporting executive function can help reveal other talents.
Did you ever read a paragraph and by the time you get to the last phrase, you've already forgotten the beginning and have to go back and read it again? And again?
Did you ever let someone down because you got so involved in a task that you forgot to show up? Or do you spend more time preparing for a task than actually getting it done?
These lapses in executive function can be frustrating and sometimes debilitating.
Executive function coaching can help.
